    ABOUT THIS POSITION

    Summary: Responsible to the Director of Information Systems to provide application programming, integrations, and data management support for Colorado Mesa University's enterprise business applications including ERP, SIS, CRM, data stores, reporting systems and associated integrations in a hybrid environment of both cloud and on-premise solutions. As part of a talented team of programming professionals, this position will employ strong communication, decision making and project management skills to support a wide range of department applications and teams from implementation and systems integrations to application upgrades, enhancements, reporting activities, and business area operational support.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Work on enterprise application related projects, including custom integrations, implementation, and maintenance of complex information systems and business applications across multiple platforms, serving all areas of the university.


    Application programming and testing of custom scripting programs (scripts) , extensibility forms, scheduled jobs processes, etc.- Consult with users to gather, document, and analyze application requirements. Identify programming and output needs, document any changes to the system, and verify preliminary design and output.


    Develop data interfaces between the Banner enterprise resource planning (ERP) and student information system (SIS) and other enterprise applications. Schedule jobs and monitor for successful completion of scheduled jobs.

    Assist with building and managing implementations through use of an integrated platform-as-a- service (iPaaS) platform.

    Assist with building, customizing, and supporting integrations between Banner ERP/SIS and multiple Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) systems used by various university Departments.

    Work with end-users to develop viable department or work unit processes to avoid modification or customization of the software. Work with end-users to recommend changes to streamline processes and utilize existing software resources.

    Help maintain, support, and customize our Operational Data Store (ODS), including addition of reporting data from enterprise systems, developing custom data packages, and utilizing data stores for analytical workloads. Maintain the documentation for the reporting databases. Work with departments to develop more complex reports using reporting tools such as IBM Cognos.

    Assist in managing any upgrades or patches to enterprise systems maintained by CMU. Monitor websites for availability of upgrades, patches, and bug fixes.

    Develop test scripts and criteria and help end-users define testing scenarios, to test any new system modifications or upgrades.

    Help maintain data hub architecture, including master data management, data transformation, and data governance. Ensure adherence to technical, quality assurance, data integrity, and security standards.

    Work with APIs to integrate systems including configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of APIs.

    Assist in scheduling, determining manpower requirements, and estimating costs to project completion.

    Configure and support Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.

    Help support the degree auditing tool Ellucian Degree Works, including upgrades, customization, administration and interfaces.

    Present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and providers.

    Assist with working on and completing Helpdesk tickets. Maintain communication with users by promptly responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or program operations.

    Write clear system and user documentation and instructions following campus standards.

    Must have strong problem-solving skills and be collaborative in nature, ready to work in a team-oriented environment and take on tasks which may be new to you.

    Must possess ability to multi-task and prioritize projects with competing deadlines and resources.

    Investigate, learn, and offer advice on new web-related technologies as required.

    Serve on University committees as needed.

    Perform other related duties as assigned by IT administration.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university in an appropriate computer related field.
    • Must be proficient with writing SQL queries, and use of PL/SQL or similar scripting language.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

      Preferred Qualifications:
    • Two years related experience providing configuration, customization, and technical support for a complex Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, preferably the Ellucian suite of Banner products.
    • Experience or familiarity with working in an Integrated Platform as a Service (iPaaS) architecture, such as Dell Boomi or similar platforms.
    • Experience developing within the Ellucian Ethos platform.
    • Familiarity with working with RESTful APIs and JSON output.
    • Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
    • Knowledge of other formats and languages including JavaScript, Perl, Oracle's Pro*C, and XML.
    • Prefer applicant with experience in a Higher Ed Information Technology environment.
