    Job Summary

    The Processing Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of the egg processing department within our chicken egg farm. This position oversees the day-to-day activities of the processing team, including egg washing, grading, and packaging. The Processing Manager is responsible for managing a team of Processing Leads and ensuring that production goals, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Processing Leads to ensure smooth and effective operations. Foster a positive working environment that encourages teamwork and accountability.
    • Operational Oversight: Monitor and manage all aspects of egg processing, from washing and grading to packaging. Ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and within established timelines.
    • Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of egg quality. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues.
    • Production Planning: Collaborate with Processing Leads and other relevant departments to develop production schedules and ensure adequate inventory levels to meet market demand. The Processing Manager develops the plan, and the Processing Leads execute the plan.
    • Safety Compliance: Uphold and enforce safety protocols and regulations within the processing department. Promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
    • Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure all processing equipment is well-maintained and in good working condition. Report any issues promptly.
    • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials, cleaning supplies, and other necessary items. Place orders as needed to maintain seamless operations.
    • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on production efficiency, quality control, and any issues or improvements within the processing department. Present findings to upper management.
    • Cost Control: Manage departmental expenses within budgetary constraints. Identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, Food Science, or a related field preferred.
    • Previous experience in food processing or a similar industry.
    • Proven leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong understanding of food safety and quality control standards.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Proficiency in computer applications and data analysis.
    • Knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.

    Working Conditions

    • The position may require occasional weekend or evening work, especially during peak production periods, and a rotation of weekends shifts.
    • Exposure to a food processing environment, which may include temperature variations, noise, and odors.
