Civil Engineering Supervisor supervises a team of civil engineers who design and develop construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, and roads. Ensures maintenance of equipment and adherence to safety prevention measures. Being a Civil Engineering Supervisor monitors personnel needs and schedules staff accordingly. Also responsible for preparing proposals, establishing completion dates and cost estimates, and evaluation results. Additionally, Civil Engineering Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically requires the Certified Professional Engineer (PE) credential. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Operate and maintain 3,000 kw Gas turbine generators with Heat Recovery Steam Generators including generation of electricity to supply the Base. Operate and maintain auxiliary boiler, steam turbine generators and all supporting equipment including the following systems: feed water, steam, condensate, water treatment, fuel gas compressors, high voltage electrical switchgear, motor control center, pumps, motors and control system. Starts, operates, adjusts, and stops multiple fuel power boilers fueled by fossil fuel and natural gas or a combination of these fuels, steam driven turbines, pumps, auxiliary pollution control and other equipment in high pressure steam central boiler plant. Starts, operates, adjusts, and stops multiple fuel high tonnage chillers fueled by electricity and natural gas or a combination of these fuels, cooling towers, turbines, pumps, auxiliary pollution control and other equipment to provide chilled water for cooling and process functions.
The position is 84 hours per two weeks which includes 4 hours of mandatory overtime.
Minimum Requirements:
A First Fireman license is required IAW Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) requirements, and Commonwealth of Massachusetts General Law Chapter 146.
First Class Fireman’s License is required to be obtained within first 12 Months of employment.
