Civil Engineer jobs in Louisiana
Civil Engineer designs and supervises construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, or roads. Reviews designs, tests and assesses materials, and performs necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Civil Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Here's how a(n)Field Engineer Internfor our TIGoffice contributes to our team:
Responsibilities* Assists Field Engineers, Project Managers, Superintendents, and/or Estimators Conduct safety audits and quality audits
* Reads and understands drawings and specifications
* Logs submittals and process RFI's
* Assists with surveys and project layouts
* Maintains and updates field drawings, field equipment and records
* Assists with coordinates subcontractors, vendors, and field staff
* Attends relevant project meetings
* Prepares memos, letters, meeting minutes, contracts, and other forms and documents
* Assists with project documentation requirements
* Assists with estimates and solicits subcontractors and/or suppliers for information and pricing
* Performs other duties as assignedQualifications* Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree relevant to the construction industry such as Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Electrical Engineering
* A desire to pursue a career as a Project Manager, Superintendent, Safety Professional, or Estimator, working on civil projects
* Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
* 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Driver's License
* Willing to temporarily relocate to project locations
* Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party
Working Conditions:
* This is an hourly non-exempt position
* Must be able to navigate through a construction site on a daily basis, climb ladders and stairs
