Reviews designs, tests and assesses materials, and performs necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed. As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and completing the design of road, utility, and site projects. This person will be responsible for leading the full life cycle of a civil project including proposal preparation, client contracts, and budgets management through design-build construction. This role will work collaboratively with the construction team through constructability, budgeting, and hand-off. The successful candidate will be experienced in creating engineering products to meet customer quality requirements for a client projects, uphold high standards of communication and customer service, and be familiar with working within municipal and state agencies.
