Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
The Civil Engineer will provide OBO/Ashagbat a full range of ciritcal engineering and sonctruction quality assurance and management and technical oversight. This position will be based in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
This is a 5-year project contingent on the award of the contract.

Qualifications To be successful in the role:
At least 7 years of experience on commercial construction industry; US Embassy construction program experience is highly desired.
Must be able to read design/construction drawings and be able to understand design narratives and calculations.
Must understand and be able to interpret drawings in his/her discipline and have a basic understanding of the principals of his/her engineering discipline and how it fits in with other engineering disciplines.
Must be able to provide Quality Assurance oversight for ongoing construction projects, review contractor submittals and proposed substitutions with engineering implications. Must be knowledgeable in International Codes.
Must be proficient in assessing and responding to Requests for Information (RFI).
Must have experience in evaluating design calculations and engineering data.
Knowledgeable of Construction Safety regulations, including EM 385-1-1 and OSHA.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
