Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Dance Instructor to join our team. Specifically seeking a Hip Hop teacher to cover three classes/week (Sundays) for students in grades 4-12, as well as a teacher who is proficient at both Jazz and Tap to teach an introductory movement/dance class to students in grades 1-5. Your role will involve creating engaging lesson plans, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a positive learning environment.

Duties:

- Develop and implement dance curriculum based on the needs and abilities of students

- Teach dance techniques, choreography, and routines in various styles such as jazz, tap, hip-hop, and more

- Demonstrate proper dance techniques and movements

- Provide individualized attention and feedback to students to help them improve their skills

- Plan and organize showcase routine(s) for three showcases throughout the school year

- Maintain a safe and clean dance studio environment

- Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to ensure smooth operations of the dance program

- Stay updated on current trends and developments in the field of dance instruction

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a Dance Instructor or in a related role

- Extensive knowledge of different dance styles and techniques

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to effectively manage a classroom setting

- Experience working with children of all ages

- Knowledge of childhood development principles

Skills:

- Classroom management abilities to maintain discipline and order during classes

- Childcare experience to create a nurturing environment for young dancers

- Behavior management techniques to handle challenging situations with students effectively

- Knowledge of childhood development principles to tailor instruction based on age group

- Early childhood education background is advantageous for working with young children
