The Childbirth Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. - Designs, organizes, implements, and evaluates educational programs (orientations, continuing education, and in-services) that facilitate the professional growth, skill development, competency, and attainment of standards of care for employees. Clinical programs will be developed using nursing theory, nursing clinical expertise, standards of practice, and adult education principles. - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Education, licensure, and certification:
- Current RN license in the State of Georgia.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a minimum of 1 year experience in area of specialty strongly desired.
- Associate’s degree in nursing with a minimum of 4 years experience in area of specialty accepted in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
- Current CPR Healthcare Course C Instructor certification (or ability to obtain it)
- ACLS or PALS instructor certification (or ability to obtain it) as appropriate to assigned units
- Nursing experience required; hospital experience preferred.
- Acute patient care and teaching experience preferred.
- Flexible in work schedule, assignments, workloads, setting priorities and utilizing problem solving techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to assess learning needs of healthcare personnel.
- Ability to conduct educational programs for a wide range of healthcare personnel.
- Ability to plan educational programs based on objectives and evaluate effectiveness.
- Ability to utilize a variety of office, educational, and clinical equipment.
