We are seeking a Deli Manager for our Deli and Hot Bar in Santa Cruz.

*POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:*

• Supervise the refinement of our current offerings, and further develop all in house food products including hot bar, deli cold case, sandwiches, grab and go, catering and other special menus and events as necessary.
• Maintain and/or improve budgeted culinary labor and cost of merchandise percentages.
• Develops, tests, cost analyzes, and implements new menu items.
• Maintain and improve quality control standards where needed.
• Supervises all product purchasing to ensure quality standards as well as cost standards are met.
• Develops, documents, and implements training programs for all culinary and retail applications.
• Responsible to hire (and fire, when necessary) deli personnel, and ensure new hires are trained as required.
• Responsible for creating a schedule for the deli department that will ensure production and labor budget requirements are met.
• Other duties as assigned.

*POSITION REQUIREMENTS:*

• Managerial experience in a food service setting would be ideal. Experience in a grocery store deli/kitchen would also be helpful.
• Knowledge and experience of inventory control and food costing, purchasing, food and kitchen safety, menu design and planning, employee supervision and development, staffing and scheduling, and decision making is also ideal.
• Fluency with Cheftec costing software would be helpful, as well as productivity software such as MS Word, and Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Excellent active and passive listening skills.
• Able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of *Staff of Life*.
