Child Life Program Director manages and directs pediatric programs, therapies, and activities among young patients. Evaluates programs and recommends changes to improve care for childhood hospitalizations or disabilities. Being a Child Life Program Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Child Life Program Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Provides developmentally appropriate clinical care and advocacy for patients and families by applying knowledge and skill that promotes healing, prevents significant developmental disruption, and reduces psychological stress.

    Job Posting Addendum :

    This is a 0.6 FTE (48 hours per bi-weekly pay periods) Day Shift position with hours expected during the week and on Saturdays.

    Requirements :

    Required Education / Experience :

    • Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development or related field.
    • Must obtain Certified Child Life Specialist certification within one year of employment.
    • Completed an internship of a minimum of 600 hours of child life clinical experience under the direct supervision of a Certified Child Life Specialist.
    • Experience working with infants, toddlers, school-age children and adolescents in a therapeutic setting.

    • Must obtain Certified Child Life Specialist certification within one year of employment.

    Min to Max Hourly Salary : $30.37 - $45.55 / hrMin to Max Annual Salary : $63,169.60 - $94,744.00 / yrSalary Information :

    This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

    Seattle Children’s offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
