Job Title: Assistant Program Director

FLSA status: (exempt/salaried)
- Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, sociology or other relevant behavioral science plus 5 years of progressive employment experience with a social services or childcare agency or organization
- 1 year supervising a team of individuals, participating in a leadership role or management role.
- Attained age 21 years or older before first day of employment in position (ORR)
- Demonstrate a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies & practices.
- Participate in staff development, in-services, and training related to equity and inclusion in the workplace; model appropriate behaviors; develop, recommend, and implement improvements to business practices with awareness and understanding of the impact in a trauma-informed and culturally diverse organization.
Preferred Position Qualifications:
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English, written, read and verbal strongly preferred.
- ORR experience
- Residential experience
- Knowledge of Federal, State and agency regulations.
- Knowledge of adolescent developmental issues, trauma, abuse and neglect, substance abuse and dependence, delinquency, peer influence, and related group and individual interventions.
Other Requirements:
- Able to work shift hours and days, as assigned. Position may require work outside of usual work hours on occasion.
- Able to pass a comprehensive criminal history background investigation.
- Hold a valid drivers’ license and if driving a personal vehicle, must maintain minimum auto insurance policy.
- Current CPR and Standard First Aid required.
- 40 hours of required training per year
Physical demands and work environment:
· Ability to perform physical restraints of clients up to 200 pounds.
· Visual acuity allowing for analysis of written data.
· Ability to provide visual and auditory supervision of youth outdoors and indoors during activity.
· Manual dexterity allowing for operation of routine office equipment (computers, telephone, fax, copy machine, typewriter, calculator, etc.)
· Physical dexterity allowing for reaching, stooping, and repetitive motion of wrist, hand or fingers.
· Ability to remain calm and emotionally available in an environment serving youth who have experienced trauma.
