  • Key Responsibilities:

    The Chief of Staff has a critical role in supporting the CEO, Senior Leadership Team, and the Board to enhance daily operations and ensure the execution of the company's strategic priorities. This role reports directly to the CEO.

    You will gain a deep working understanding of Heritage's organization, partnership and business development challenges, ongoing and upcoming initiatives, thought leadership partners, as well as the network of existing relationships, and more.

    You will be responsible for executing all initiatives, including customized outreach to key, senior-level contacts, in-person relationship building at events, development of conference talking points and presentations, and coordination with the Heritage team both before and after events.

    As our strategic partner, you will be accountable for setting and prioritizing organizational objectives to ensure achievement. This includes monitoring progress towards our objectives and ensuring clear understanding among stakeholders.

    Drive content creation and drafts of communication/meeting materials, presentations, and preparations including briefings for effective internal and external engagements of stakeholders, particularly the board, CEO, and senior leadership team.

    Maintain effective communications with the leadership team, providing awareness of critical issues confronting projects/ initiatives and of the action plans for addressing those issues.

    Be the custodian to ensure progress is made on various action items of strategic as well as tactical nature as promised/committed in board, leadership, and other meetings to create a high do/say culture.

    Provide thought partnership to the CEO on strategic direction and team priorities - including strategy development, evaluating new ideas and opportunities, and conducting analysis and research to support key decisions.

    Capable of collaborating with the CEO and other members of the top leadership team, both internally and externally, to build cross-functional partnerships and consensus to create a more results-focused, collaborative culture.

    Coordination and orchestration of projects.

    Continuously identify ways to improve the team's operational workflows and drive process improvements.

    Excel at measuring impact, operations, relationship-building, and strategy.

    Exceptional presentation skills and emotional intelligence across all forms of communication, including strong foresight and independent judgment.

    Responsible for the definition and evolution of the short and long-term strategy roadmaps, for identifying operational efficiency opportunities.


    Areas of Focus

    Areas of focus will include organizational optimization, identifying areas of opportunity for process and efficiency improvement, and driving critical initiatives to completion. You will be expected to be a world-class individual contributor in this role, with a very good balance of thinking, analyzing, and doing.

    Project Management Responsibilities for Strategic Initiatives

    • Drives initiatives on behalf of the CEO. Manages the goals, objectives, and initiatives of the CEO and senior leadership team, providing direction to and receiving input from all areas of the business.
    • Tracks strategic initiatives by monitoring progress towards meeting goals and achieving benchmarks, ensuring follow-through on the part of key players, and sustaining momentum needed to drive the initiatives.
    • Stay connected with team members, alerting the CEO to progress or issues in carrying out the initiatives agreed upon.

    Corporate Governance Responsibilities

    • Collaborates with CEO to prepare Board agendas; oversees the preparation of Board materials and strategic communication with the Board of Directors.
    • Works with administrative staff to ensure scheduling and support provided to the Board as needed.

    Administrative Responsibilities

    • Working with CEO and members of senior leadership team, plans key executive staff and group meetings; develops agendas; determines participants; collects or prepares and distributes materials, monitors progress, and follows up on action items and strategies; and schedules follow-up meetings as needed.

    Culture Responsibilities

    • Responsibility for developing the HES culture and promoting our core values.
    • Responsibility for creating collaboration events across the business that will foster and facilitate our culture.
    • Leverage the knowledge and expertise of others in the business to brainstorm potential opportunities for the company to further develop its culture, programs, and people.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to encourage big-picture thinking and drive a better workplace environment.

    Qualifications and skills

    Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or a similar field is required. (MBA preferred)

    Experience: Proven 5-8 years of managerial work experience gained through increasingly responsible positions required. Strong organizational, operations management, and strategic planning skills required. (Consulting experience preferred) .

    Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities High level of Integrity and professionalism. Strong problem-solving ability with strong analytical and financial modeling skills. Able to translate complex ideas and dispersed information into simple, actionable recommendations. Strong research and synthesis skills. Extremely resourceful and creative, capable of solving difficult, critical problems by leveraging the extensive resources of the organization. Strong business acumen with the ability to assess the impact of decisions on overall business performance. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

    Work Environment

    This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and other office-related equipment. Willingness to work in an office setting or a hybrid model. Occasionally, walk or be in plant, operational, and factory settings.

    Travel

    Willing and able to travel up to 40% of the time, which may include overnights. This could involve traveling to different locations, attending meetings, conferences, or other work-related activities that require being away from the primary work location.
