Chief Ultrasound Technologist oversees Ultrasound Technologists and maintains the technical aspects of ultrasound services. Acts as a liaison between technologists, physicians and area support staff. Being a Chief Ultrasound Technologist suggests equipment modification and evaluates accuracy and quality of ultrasound images. May perform duties of Ultrasound Technologist as needed. Additionally, Chief Ultrasound Technologist requires an associate degree in ultrasound technology. Requires Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential. Typically requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a senior manager or director. The Chief Ultrasound Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Expected pay for this position is $37.99 - $49.72/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
This position is based at SMMC. Mission Partner may travel to Holy Family for emergency exams during their scheduled shift as part of the workflow.

POSITION SUMMARY: Performs and records two-dimensional ultrasound diagnostic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional patient data. Completes patient intakes via collection of medical history and answers patient questions regarding imaging procedures. Confers with providers on the results of imaging tests and collaborates to determine if additional images required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: N/A Experience: Completion of an accredited ultrasound program. Licensure/ Certification: Eligible for registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered as a Vascular Technologist with the Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute (CCI). Must take Registry exam within 6 months of employment and pass within 1 year. Other skills/ knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: N/A Experience: N/A Licensure/ Certification: N/A Other skills/ knowledge: 12 months of prior related clinical experience to be able to independently perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, equipment operation, and to gain knowledge of patient care techniques.
