The Department of Information Technology (DoIT) champions the state’s strategic direction for Information Technology and Telecommunications, establishing a long range, targeted technology architecture, encouraging cross agency collaboration and advocating best practices for operations and project management across state agencies within the executive branch.

Main Purpose Of Job
The Department of Technology (DoIT) is searching for its next Deputy Secretary - Chief Technology Officer. This position will serve as a strategic advisor to the Secretary of the agency and play a prominent role on our senior executive team with broad responsibility over IT engineering, products, and service delivery.
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead DoIT in long-term Information Technology innovation, strategy, investment, growth, and policy.
The CTO will build solid relationships and work effectively with leaders across the agency, including operations, data and innovation, security, communications and legal.
The CTO will directly support DoIT’s ongoing transformation and growth.
Position Duties
Help the company achieve its short and long-term goals by focusing the right engineering resources in the right place at the right time.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : A bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, software engineering, information systems, computer engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience : Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology engineering field(s), including hands-on experience in several different technology functions (e.
g., software development, cloud-based technical architecture, product management, big data, and information security).
Five (5) years of this experience should be in a senior leadership role performing supervisory duties in a large, complex, interdependent organization that includes engineering and related functions.
Experience building customer-facing products that increase audience, revenue, and future growth opportunities.
