Chief Radiologic Technologist oversees radiologic services, maintains technical aspects of radiologic safety and evaluates accuracy and quality of X-rays. Schedules work assignments and coordinates requests for radiologic services. Being a Chief Radiologic Technologist recommends new equipment, equipment modification, and crucial construction within the department. May perform duties of radiologic technologist as needed. Additionally, Chief Radiologic Technologist requires an associate degree in radiology. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - (R). Typically requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager or director. The Chief Radiologic Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chief Radiologic Technologist typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     This Radiographer position performs diagnostic medical radiographics (x-rays) for all units at Rust Medical Center, including coverage of the Emergency Department (ED).

    • FTE: 0.900000 (Full Time, 36 hours/week)
    • Work Schedule: 12 Hour Days 
    • This is a Non-Exempt role.
    • $5/hour night and $3/hour weekend differentials.
    • Sign-on bonus of up to $15,000, based upon level of experience.

     

    Presbyterian Rust Medical Center is an acute care facility with 210 licensed beds. RMC is conveniently located for patients and members living on Albuquerque’s west side - offering patient-centered, environmentally friendly, and technologically innovative care.

     

     

    Qualifications

     

    • ARRT Certification Required within one year of employment
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Associates degree preferred.
    • New Mexico Radiography Technician license required.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives and quality assurance, safety.
    • Performs radiographic examinations.
    • Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Required to maintain required stock of supplies for each radiography room.
    • Develops film including evaluating film for technical quality.
    • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
    • Transports patients to radiographic room (at times also back to room or ER); prepares and maintains room.
    • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings and workshops.
    • Attends meetings as required.
