Chief Radiologic Technologist oversees radiologic services, maintains technical aspects of radiologic safety and evaluates accuracy and quality of X-rays. Schedules work assignments and coordinates requests for radiologic services. Being a Chief Radiologic Technologist recommends new equipment, equipment modification, and crucial construction within the department. May perform duties of radiologic technologist as needed. Additionally, Chief Radiologic Technologist requires an associate degree in radiology. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - (R). Typically requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager or director. The Chief Radiologic Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chief Radiologic Technologist typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.       • Position Summary:
        • The CT/Diagnostic Technologist produces radiographs of designated anatomical areas as order/directed, according to established practices and procedures on all patient populations (infant through geriatric). The CT/Diagnostic Technologist will exhibit superior levels of customer service. The CT/Diagnostic technologist effectively operates equipment to produce quality images in a variety of settings (Radiology Department, Operating Room, and the Emergency Department. The technologist explains procedures to the patient, demonstrates and uses appropriate protocols and obtains optimum images of specified anatomy. The technologist demonstrates effective radiation safety practices and assists the Radiologist, when necessary. The technologist interacts with numerous computer programs and systems on a daily basis.
    • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
      • Minimum Education
        • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
      • Minimum Experience
        • One-year hospital experience preferred but not required
      • Required Registration/License/Certification
        • American Registry of Radiology (ARRT) license
        • CT Certification or CT experience
        • CPR certification (Basic Cardiac Life Support [American Red Cross-CPR for the Professional Rescuer] or Basic Life Support [American Heart Association-Health Care Provider] obtained within first 90 days of employment
