Chief Radiologic Technologist oversees radiologic services, maintains technical aspects of radiologic safety and evaluates accuracy and quality of X-rays. Schedules work assignments and coordinates requests for radiologic services. Being a Chief Radiologic Technologist recommends new equipment, equipment modification, and crucial construction within the department. May perform duties of radiologic technologist as needed. Additionally, Chief Radiologic Technologist requires an associate degree in radiology. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - (R). Typically requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager or director. The Chief Radiologic Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chief Radiologic Technologist typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. This role leverages advanced imaging technology to facilitate the diagnosis and exceptional treatment to our patients, creating a brighter future for children at one of the nation's top children's hospitals.     Salary Range: $26.60 to $37 (hour) or $55,328 to $76,960 (annual) *Based on hours worked per week and years of experience.
    *Several positions are eligible for mileage reimbursement and/or shift differentials (PRN, night & weekend).

    Eligible Incentives: Relocation assistance available for qualified external applicants.

    Job Qualifications:

    Education - Graduation from an accredited Radiology program
    Certification(s) -
    • Registered Radiologic Technologist ARRT(R)
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

    Job Highlights:

    • Produces high quality radiographic images, both fixed and portable, while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology.
    • Facilitates patient flow daily; to include management of STAT/urgent and high priority patients.
    • Provides age-appropriate care and appropriately prepares patients for procedures.
    • Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure and care to patients, families, coworkers, and others.
    • Operates all Diagnostic imaging equipment; to include ancillary equipment following safety procedures and protocols.
    • Utilizes principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) and ensures proper radiation safety practices.
    • Maintains required competency in dose reduction techniques and the Image Gently Campaign.
    • In the event of an emergency will act as first responder and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) until help arrives.
    • Assists Provider with procedures as necessary (Maintaining technologist Scope of Practice). Follows established procedural guidelines; documents appropriate information as required; practices aseptic/sterile technique and standard precautions when necessary.
