About Greensboro Credit Union: 

Greensboro Credit Union (formerly known as Greensboro Postal Credit Union), became the 1st credit union in Greensboro in 1928.  Still serving their founding group, the United States Postal Service, Greensboro Credit Union has also opened their doors to the residents of Greensboro and Guilford County. 

The Chief Operating Officer position will play a key role in the credit union’s success by assisting the credit union President/CEO in the overall management of the credit union.   This position is directly responsible for the administration and supervision of the front end and back-end operations for all branch activities.  

What you’ll do: 

• Prepare financial reports on a monthly basis, review and monitor financial trends.
• Review and sign contracts, consulting with general counsel as necessary.
• Assist in directing all credit union operations, which include planning, recommending, and implementing programs and policies.
• Manage all daily operations and ensure that processes are documented and easily understood. In addition, ensure adequate systems and internal controls are in place to appropriately mitigate risks.
• Maintain daily contact with branches, providing support and guidance. Monitor all branch activity.
• Oversee hiring, promotions, transfers, terminations, and other changes in status of employees.
• Oversee training and development of staff.
• Attends board meetings and report on assigned areas of responsibility.

To qualify for this position, you’ll need:  

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, in business, finance, or other related field of study
• 3-5 years of relevant financial institution experience, with at least one year of managerial experience.
• Credit union experience strongly preferred.
• Specialized credit union training and/or certification strongly preferred
• Effective, professional verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient computer skills, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
• Must be bondable.
