Chief Nurse Anesthetist manages and schedules Nurse Anesthetists who plan, arrange and secure necessary anesthesia equipment. Aids Anesthesiologist in organizing courses of instruction for students, and partakes in resulting programs and demonstrations. Being a Chief Nurse Anesthetist prepares reports and compiles data dealing with specific anesthesia, drugs and techniques, and patients' reactions to them. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Chief Nurse Anesthetist requires Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chief Nurse Anesthetist typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Chief Nurse Anesthetist typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • Locum CRNA needed Late May or as soon as credentialed near Johnstown, CA.
    • Job Title/Specialty: CRNA
    • Start Date: Late May or June depending on credentialing.
    • Schedule: Monday through Thursday 7:00am- 5:00pm
    • Length of Assignment: Late May through August or September and potentially ongoing.

    Responsibilities:

    • Administer general anesthesia, neuraxial anesthesia, regional anesthesia or procedural sedation in accordance with the preanesthesia plan, altering management as needed to maintain optimal physiological function consistent with patient well-being, safety and surgical goals.
    • Keep surgical team informed of patient's status, seeking consultation as warranted.
    • Ensure the safety of the patient with regard to positional, environmental or other hazards while under anesthesia.
    • EMR: Cerner
    • CRNAs function independently and we do have a Lead MDA for support if needed.
    • Second Call one night a week 5:00pm- 7:00am

    Requirements:

    • The practice is bread and butter with quite a bit of regional anesthesia. General surgery, lap choles, hernias, ortho.
    • Demonstrate competency and understanding of current anesthesia practices and techniques.
    • Procedures: General anes, no heart, neuro, OB, trauma, or complicated pediatrics.
    • Credentialing Timeframe: 60 days (Temp privileges available)
    • Will they license: No, must be California licensed.
    • DEA: Yes

    $500 referral bonus received for any referral who works 30 days.
