Chief Nurse Anesthetist jobs in Brookings, SD
Chief Nurse Anesthetist manages and schedules Nurse Anesthetists who plan, arrange and secure necessary anesthesia equipment. Aids Anesthesiologist in organizing courses of instruction for students, and partakes in resulting programs and demonstrations. Being a Chief Nurse Anesthetist prepares reports and compiles data dealing with specific anesthesia, drugs and techniques, and patients' reactions to them. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Chief Nurse Anesthetist requires Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chief Nurse Anesthetist typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Chief Nurse Anesthetist typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Avera is currently seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to deliver the best possible nursing care for surgical patients.

Job Summary
- CRNA only practice covering 3 hospitals and a pain clinic.
- Variety of cases: general, GI, ENT, pediatrics, urology, orthopedics, OB/GYN, podiatry. Labor epidurals, peripheral nerve blocks, chronic pain management.
- Call every 4th weekend and every 4th weeknight. Limited schedule post call day.
- 5 weeks PTO
- 1 week CME $3500 CME allowance

Licensure/Certification/Registration
- NBCRNA certification required
