Chief Medical Officer directs the staff and develops policies for the organization's clinical programs. Works closely with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. Being a Chief Medical Officer oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulations and standards. Evaluates developments and innovations in medical care and makes recommendations for new practices and procedures. Additionally, Chief Medical Officer advises CEO and medical teams on matters impacting patient care. Requires a MD. Requires State License to Practice Medicine. Typically reports to top management. The Chief Medical Officer manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.     Prime Healthcare's executive leadership is expanding and is seeking Regional Chief Medical Officers across our Regions.

    Responsibilities

    The Regional Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is a hands-on, visible leader within their respective market(s) and is responsible for all over strategic leadership, planning, development, direction, coordination and control of activity within patient care, clinical and clinical support service areas. The Regional CMO works collaboratively with leaders and staff to ensure that high quality, patient-centered care is delivered in a cost-effective manner.

    While providing executive leadership, the Regional CMO demonstrates in-depth knowledge and expertise for, hospital operations and compliance with regulatory bodies, clinical documentation, and end-to-end revenue cycle management.

    Qualifications
      Medical Degree and Master's degree in Business, Health Administration or related field.
    1. Minimum of ten (10) years of clinical practice experience required.
    2. Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Chief Medical Officer within a multi-site, multi-state health system, or within a large, complex acute care hospital is required.
    3. Proven ability to ensure quality patient care is delivered within a cost-effective manner is required.
    4. In-depth knowledge of clinical documentation and revenue cycle operations and management, including inpatient and professional billing and collections.
    5. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    6. Ability to effectively lead at all levels of management is required.
    7. Demonstrates commitment to quality patient-centered community care is required.
