Chief MRI Technologist jobs in Sunland Park, NM
Chief MRI Technologist oversees work in the magnetic resonance department, maintains technical aspects of radiologic safety and evaluates accuracy and quality of MRIs. Schedules work assignments and coordinates requests for services. Being a Chief MRI Technologist recommends new equipment, equipment modification, and crucial construction within the department. May perform duties of MRI Technologist as needed. Additionally, Chief MRI Technologist may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Requires a registration as a technologist by the A.R.R.T. Typically reports to a manager or director. The Chief MRI Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chief MRI Technologist typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Summary
Under minimal supervision, performs complex diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures, as requested by a licensed physician.
Responsibilities
Produces high quality diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care.
Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
Other related duties as assigned.- Produces high quality images in a safe and efficient manner.
- Completes required exams.
- Sends studies to reading station for radiologist review, completes all associated documentation.
Qualifications
EducationRequired: Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program
Experience
Preferred: Associates degree or Bachelor's degreePreferred: 1-3 years
CertificationsRequired: ARRT ( R ) and documentation of MRI training and experience; must obtain MRI Registry within one year of hire; BLS; state license if required
