    We are currently in search of a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our dedicated team. As the CFO, you will play a pivotal role, overseeing all financial-related activities and providing essential financial analysis, statistical information, and accounting expertise to our CEO, Board of Directors, staff, contractors, and auditors.

    Responsibilities

    How You Will Make an Impact

    Reporting to the CEO, this role will:

    • Oversee General Ledger preparation and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Manage the Accounting Department, including recruitment, training, development, and supervision of employees.
    • Ensure accurate and timely process of payroll, related reports and filings, accounts payable and receivables.
    • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including State Audit Financial Statements.
    • Implement and oversee purchasing procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and bidding processes.
    • Analyze financial data, provide timely recommendations to the CEO, and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Evaluate and recommend changes to financial reporting systems, accounting procedures, budgets, operating systems, and internal control functions. Establish and enforce procedures for asset custody, record-keeping, and collateral control.
    • Monitor agency service and financial trends for strategic review by the CEO and Board of Directors.
    • Interact professionally and effectively with a diverse group of organizations, governmental representatives, communities, professionals, clients, and employees.
    • Collaborate with insurance brokers to purchase/renew mandated insurances and risk management tools.
    • Monitor financial industry including federal and state regulations, changes and trends and ensure compliance and transparency of Agency’s fiduciary responsibilities. Handle confidential information in compliance with HIPAA.

    Qualifications

    What You Need to Succeed

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field. Master’s degree in business administration preferred.
    • 5 years of related experience, preferably in nonprofits and fund accounting; budget development and oversight, and management of employees. Understanding of GAAP, as well as tax and other compliance implications in a nonprofit context.
    • Demonstrated leadership, vision, and strategic and creative thinking, planning, and implementation skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, collaborative style, and strong negotiating skills.
    • Strong presentation skills and ability to simplify financial information for non-financial individuals.
    • Proficient in accounting software, Abila preferred, and Microsoft Office including advanced Excel.
