    What we are looking for:

    We currently have an open position for a virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO), working out of our Hartford, CT office. This is a client-facing, office-based position. The vCIO’s principal role is to provide planning, budgeting, and strategic direction to our clients in relation to information technology and systems. The person in this position will focus primarily on the business relationship with the client and leveraging technical resources to improve their operational efficiencies. As a VCIO, you would partner with organizations across various industries, helping them harness the full potential of their IT infrastructure and drive innovation to achieve their business goals. Client satisfaction, contract renewals, and discovering additional opportunities fall under the realm of the vCIO. 

    Responsibilities:

    Providing IT leadership and planning for a diverse group of clients as well as being the internal champion for each client within CompassMSP through the following:
    • Strategic Technology Planning: Collaborating with clients to develop comprehensive technology strategies that align with their business goals, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Client Management: Work with multiple clients simultaneously, acting as trusted advisors to our clients and building relationships with key stakeholders within the client organization, including executives, department heads, and IT teams. You will take responsibility for the clients’ technology initiative and become familiar with their business operations, goals and challenges. As their vCIO, you will provide personalized recommendations, implement tailored solutions, and continuously monitor and optimize their technology environment and drive business outcomes.
    • IT Infrastructure Assessment: Conducting thorough assessments of existing IT infrastructure, identifying gaps, and recommending solutions for improvement.
    • Vendor Management: Evaluating and managing relationships with technology vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services.
    • Risk Management and Cybersecurity: Assessing cybersecurity risks and implementing proactive measures to safeguard critical data, systems, and networks.
    • Business Continuity Planning: Assisting clients in creating robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure uninterrupted operations in the face of disruptions.
    Qualifications:

    • Experience: A proven track record of success in a similar role, with expertise in strategic technology planning, IT infrastructure management, and cybersecurity.
    • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, networking, cybersecurity best practices, and emerging technology trends.
    • Analytical Thinking: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex situations, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions.
    • Business Acumen: A solid understanding of business processes and the ability to align technology strategies with overall business objectives.
