    A unique opportunity exists for candidates with a successful track record of financial and operational leadership. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the senior leadership, shaping the operating and strategic direction of the Greenwich History Society.

    The CFO/COO role reports directly to the Executive Director & CEO and encompasses all aspects of the organization’s financial, administrative, facilities, IT, and human resources functions. The CFO/COO will be a strategic partner to the Executive Director/CEO, developing short-term, medium-term and long-term plans that promote the realization of strategic objectives in a financially sound manner.

    Key Responsibilities

    · Prepare the annual operating and capital budgets, in collaboration with the Finance Committee.

    · Provide monthly P&Ls to Executive Director with analysis of variance vs budget

    · Oversee Investment Portfolios in conjunction with Finance Committee

    · Standardize chart of accounts to provide consistent reporting and enhanced ability to identify underlying drivers of performance versus budget and prior years

    · Identify cost savings opportunities across organization on an ongoing basis; present recommendations to Executive Director.

    · Provide regular financial updates (operating results, investment, cash flow, and financial condition) to the Finance Committee.

    · Provide clear, concise, relevant and timely information to the Board of Trustees.

    · Develop standard operating procedures and reporting for all departments, to ensure the optimal use of resources.

    · Improve cross departmental collaboration through improved data analytics and reporting and clear communication.

    · Partner with the Executive Director and other senior leadership staff in the strategic planning process.

    · Manage grant-related financials.

    · Analyze and provide recommendations on earned revenue activities (including museum store, facility rentals, admissions), balancing strategic objectives and financial considerations.

    · Develop ad hoc reports as necessary.

    · Handle HR related issues (payroll benefits and retirement plan)

    · Update personnel manual and policies.

    · Review IT capabilities and recommend best practices.

    · Act as primary contact to the GHS outside auditor for all reporting and the annual audited financials.

    · Manage the Finance and Administrative Department Staff and oversee the third party property management and human resources relationships. Curatorial and Advancement Departments have a dotted line reporting responsibility to the CFO/COO.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred in relevant field of business, accounting or operations. Knowledge/experience with fund accounting a plus.

    At least 10 years of relevant financial experience.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $115,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
