Chief Helicopter Pilot partners with general aviation management to establish and implement operating policies and procedures for helicopter pilots. Ensures flights are operated in compliance with all applicable FAA regulations. Being a Chief Helicopter Pilot schedules flight personnel, maintenance and maintains flight records. Assumes flight duty. Additionally, Chief Helicopter Pilot has all required licenses and meets flying time requirements. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Commercial Pilot license for helicopters - CPL(H). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chief Helicopter Pilot manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.     Aviation 15U - Helicopter Repairer CH-47

    Job Description:

    As a CH-47 Helicopter Repairer, you’ll maintain and repair the CH-47 helicopters (also known as the “Chinook”). As the Army’s most utilized helicopter, with hundreds of Army missions depending on them, you’ll have to ensure that they are safe and ready to fly.

    The CH-47 Helicopter Repairer (MOS 15U) has a crucial job responsibility like other types of helicopter repairmen. The Chinook CH-47 Helicopter is necessary for many military operations. CH-47 Helicopter Repairers service and lubricate aircraft and subsystems. They inspect assemblies like the engines, gearboxes, rotors, transmissions, and mechanical flight controls. There is also a need to check aircraft wings, tail assemblies, and fuselages.

    Qualifications and Training:

    To enter into this Army MOS, individuals will be required to receive a score of 104 on the Mechanical Maintenance (MM) portion of the ASVAB.

    When all required testing and entrance examinations have been completed, recruits will attend 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training.

    Recruits/Applicants wishing to go into the position will be required to attend 17 weeks of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Eustis Virginia.

    This training provides on-the-job instruction with both classroom and field training.

    Skills that are helpful in this position:
    • Ability to work with both hand and power tools.
    • Desire to work in a career that involves aircraft and engine mechanics.
    • Preference for a job that uses both mathematics and shop mechanics.
     Requirements:
    • Must be a US citizen or I-551 cardholder.
    • Must be between the age of 17-34.
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Must pass a criminal background check with no open law violations.
    • Must pass a drug screen.
    • No felony.
    • Must currently be in good health with no physical limitations.
    Compensation:
    • Total compensation includes housing, medical, food, special pay, and vacation time.
