Utah has one of the strongest economies in the country, fueled by strong growth, high education and employment rates, and stunning natural beauty as a bonus. Utah Community Credit Union (UCCU) is looking for its next chief executive officer (CEO) to boldly lead the credit union into the future and capitalize on the financial strength of the state and the communities it serves.

The CEO is a dynamic leader who will take a strategic and visionary approach to operations and long-term planning while providing leadership, oversight, and strategic direction to the credit union. The CEO gathers and analyzes information to make data-driven decisions promptly. The CEO must be capable and comfortable making quick, data-driven decisions to take advantage of opportunities.

A strong, collaborative partnership between the board of directors and the CEO is necessary to bring creativity and vision to how the credit union acts and moves forward. Awareness and understanding of marketplace dynamics are a must. Interpreting and sharing these findings, along with the related risks and rewards, in sometimes rigorous conversations with the board to propose and encourage innovative thinking and fiduciary soundness is required. Utah has the youngest population in the nation, and the next CEO should promote a technology-forward approach to engage with and capture this demographic as members. The CEO needs to understand the opportunities, risks, and implications of AI and a digital-forward strategy.

The CEO is the face of the credit union and will foster a strong and healthy corporate culture that engages employees, creates wealth for members, and positively impacts the community. The CEO is a well-respected presence in the community and serves as the face of the credit union. Building and maintaining meaningful relationships with the members and their communities is key to the success of the next CEO of UCCU.
