    JOB SUMMARY:


    Directs and administers the operations of CCAP in accordance with CCAP's mission and vision while adhering to its values. The CEO leads the organization in such a manner that optimum results are achieved in relation to the resources of the agency. The CEO operates under the general direction of the CCAP Board of Directors.

    Requirements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master’s degree in administration, social work, or related field, preferred.
    • Seven (7) years' experience in supervision, management at a nonprofit social services agency.
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Must have excellent writing and oral communication skills.
    • Because of the nature of this job, public speaking is frequently required.


      

    WORK SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

    This is a full-time position unless specified differently by the Board of Directors. Due to of the nature and responsibility of this position the employee must maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the demands of the job and may go beyond a regular workweek.


    CONFIDENTIALITY OF INFORMATION:

    The CEO has access to all confidential information within the organization and will maintain the confidentiality of all materials in accordance with State and Federal law and CCAP policies and procedures.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Program Management:

    • Is accountable for control and appropriate use of all physical, financial, and human resources within CCAP, has final responsibility for the financial and programmatic management of CCAP.
    • Develop and communicate a clear vision and mission for CCAP.
    • Oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services to meet the community’s needs.
    • Evaluates the services being provided by CCAP in relation to specific goals and standards and recommends modifications where appropriate.
    • Recommends and/or provides input on proposed new programs.
    • Integrates technology to enhance the efficiency and impact of CCAP’s programs.


    Board Relations:

    • Develop and recommend to the Board of Directors specific, long and short-range plans for CCAP services. 
    • Develops policies by which to operate and achieve the long and short-term goals.
    • Maintains appropriate relations with the CCAP Board and various Board committees and keeps them informed.
    • Administers orientation training for the Board of Directors.
    • Acts as staff to the Board's Nominating Committee.


    Finance:

    • Prepares with the Finance Director the CCAP annual budget and presents to the Board of Directors for approval.


    Advocacy:

    • Act as the liaison with the governments of the cities and towns served by CCAP as well as various departments within the State of Rhode Island.
    • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
    • Advocate for the needs and interests of the community by providing testimony at budget hearings, city/town council meetings as necessary, and provide information as requested by any governmental body.
    • Interprets trends in the social service field by maintaining involvement in the professional environment. 


    Supervisory:

    • Directly supervise all Vice Presidents and the Director of Human Resources.
    • Carries out supervisory abilities in accordance with CCAP policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Participate in CCAP Leadership / Quality Improvement Team. 
    • Implement policies and practices that promote diversity and inclusion within CCAP.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    REASONING ABILITIES

    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw various conclusions.
    • Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Position requires mature judgement, initiative, dependability, and the ability to anticipate and solve complicated problems to personnel issues. Individual must be able to work without the benefit of direct supervision and to manage multiple priorities.


    OTHER ABILITIES

    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial, legal, and programmatic documents, policy matters and resource materials.
    • Ability to respond to all inquiries or complaints from staff, applicants, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
    • Ability to write.
    • Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment is a business office environment. Potential exposure to blood bore pathogens, respiratory diseases and other infectious diseases, and other biohazard materials requiring universal standard precautions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
