This position offers a broad role and complex challenges.  The candidate will be given autonomy in directing day-to-day operations, will be relied on heavily to keep the operations focused and running smoothly, will be responsible for driving efficiencies and optimizing workflows, and will have a key role in growing the company in existing and new regions as we target new regions across Florida.  The COO will be a business partner to the President and will assist in the leadership of the team and the overall organization – a “go-to” resource with input in nearly every facet of the operations of the Company. The COO position offers the right candidate an exciting and challenging opportunity, in an organization that demands extraordinary client service and in being the world’s best at what we do.The total compensation package is designed to attract highly talented COO candidates.  It will include a competitive base salary and bonus, and the company also offers a complete benefits package.     Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 
    • The COO will lead the Company’s operations which includes Association Management, P&L performance, and expense controls. The position’s primary objectives are to help the firm manage and sustain growth and to maximize revenue and profits. All Regional Leadership will report directly to the COO, and there will be additional dotted line reports from other parallel corporate functions – e.g., Finance and HR.   
      Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Lead the Company’s day-to-day operations.  This includes working with Regional Managers to oversee consistent service delivery to our clients from our Community Association Managers.   
    • Lead the operational analysis for strategic and tactical decisions.  This includes Financial Reporting, ROI analysis for expenditures, efficiency analysis, and business development opportunities analysis. 
    • Establish MBOs and KPIs. Educate the Team on the information, how to develop action plans from it, and the importance of the measurements.
    • Be a ‘culture champion.’ We are proud of our culture at MAY Management, and the COO will need to create a culture of empowerment, responsibility, accountability, and continuous improvement where our clients are the focus of everything we do.  
    • Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual operating budgets. 
    • Prepare and manage operating expenditures.
    • Lead operational integration when MAY opens an additional Regional Office or if there are tuck-in acquisitions. 
    • Build enhanced and highly automated systems and procedures including controls, documentation, and training that take advantage of industry best-in-class technology and software solutions.
    • Develop human capital from within the organization, by mentoring peers and subordinates. 
    Accountable Metrics:The COO will be held accountable for achieving clear targets in the following metrics:
    • Target EBITDA Growth.
    • Target EBITDA Margin.
    • Target efficiency ratios for staffing.
    • Top-line Revenue growth from organic, and ancillary. 
    • Client Retention vs. Churn.
    • Customer Service Scorecard.
    • Employee Turnover.
    • Employee NPS.

     

    Position Requirements: 
    • A bachelor’s degree is required/strongly preferred.  
    • Strongly preferred experience in Association or Property Management with a track record of success and increasing responsibility. Prior experience in a COO, VP of Operations, or Senior Regional Manager role. 
    • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
    • Expertise in establishing effective systems, processes, and workflow analysis.
    • Experience in the creation of metrics (KPIs) as well as setting, measuring, and enforcing operational standards.
    • Superb business software knowledge.
