Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist directs the Diagnostic Imaging Department's operations including nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography and ultrasound. Supervises new testing procedures and related protocol. Being a Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist regulates the maintenance of departmental facilities, supplies, equipment, and material in a manner to promote health, comfort, and efficiency. Summary:
Performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Ensures patient safety and comfort during care, and reviews images to provide quality diagnostic imaging.
Education/Experience:
Graduate of recognized, approved AMA council of Education program in radiological technology; Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) is required; requires current CPR and AED certification; MR registry through the ARRT will be required within six months of hire date.

Working conditions:
Moderate amount of kneeling, reaching, and stooping. Constant amount of walking, standing, and sitting. Ability to assist patients, up to 650 pounds, from sitting, standing, and lying positions with the use of proper lifting methods (i.e. assistance of other personnel, use of provided lifting devices such as Hoyer lift, etc). May be exposed to negligible electromagnetic radiation. Must have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
