The internationally recognized Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA), located in Aurora Illinois, is seeking an educator with a passion for students and inquiry-based learning to serve as the Principal and Chief Academic Officer. IMSA is known for developing creative, ethical leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. As a teaching and learninglaboratory created by the State of Illinois, IMSA enrolls academically talented Illinois students (grades 10-12) in its advanced, residential college preparatory program.

Ranked the #1 college preparatory public high school and #1 STEM high school in Illinois by Niche.com, the Academy engages approximately 650 students in its residential program from over 50 counties as it develops creative, ethical leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. IMSA fosters the discoverers, the thinkers, innovators and experimenters as well as the problem-solvers of the future who can change the world. IMSA’s mission is to ignite and nurture creative, ethical, scientific minds that advance the human condition. Graduates are leaders in the business, education, scientific, and civic sectors. By design, IMSA is not part of the K-12 educational system. Rather, IMSA is an independent state agency led by a President and governed by an appointed Board of Trustees. IMSA’s budget is part of the Illinois higher education system.

Salary and benefits package are regionally competitive and commensurate with experience. The position begins July 1, 2024.
