JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Evaluation of materials using appropriate analytical techniques
• Trouble shooting in-house processes
• Investigating customer technical concerns
• Supporting the commercial team with timely technical service support
• Develop new test methods based on new product needs
• Research new analytical testing applicable to current markets
• Perform routine and non-routine testing utilizing various analytical instruments
• Support commercial needs for lab testing
• Improve existing product performance
• New product development
• Optimize production quality and output
• Write detailed technical reports to communicate findings to Senior Management and Commercial Team

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• BS/BA Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Technology or Polymer Engineering. Associates Degree with additional experience will also be acceptable.
• Basic understanding of statistical methods and experimental design techniques
• Experience in writing lab/ technical reports
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with the MS Office suite of programs

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a polymer production facility
• Familiarity with polymer chemistry and synthesis
• Familiarity with polymer extrusion and compounding techniques, specifically Twin-Screw Extrusion, Farrel Continuous Mixing, Buss Co Kneader, and Single Screw Extrusion
• Experience in Rheology techniques, including Rotational and Capillary
• Experience with DSC, TGA, TMA, and DMA thermal analysis
