Being a Chemical Plant Operator follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed. Additionally, Chemical Plant Operator enters required production data and information into logs. May unload or move materials. Follows all procedures for safe material handling and required safety gear. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Chemical Plant Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Job Summary: To ensure all installed plant equipment and systems are operated safely and correctly and their operation fulfills the contract between the our client and EMCOR Facilities Services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
Must have a detailed understanding of Combined Heat and Power and Central Utility Plants, including startup, operations, and maintenance of all installed equipment.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent comparable technical education, and/or five years of documented work-related experience.
Must have strong troubleshooting skills, and a thorough understanding of installed machinery and equipment and the ability to recommend and make necessary repairs.
Must be able to perform testing utilizing precision instruments.
Must be able to interpret system schematic diagrams and be able to troubleshoot systems and equipment utilizing them.
Must be able to work in a power plant environment, located on a university campus.
