Filling Machine Operator
Webco Chemical Corporation and Bayscience Formulators in Dudley, MA specialize in developing, manufacturing, and packaging chemicals for industrial use, dairy farms, and personal care. We produce a variety of different products ranging from bleach and iodine to hand soap and body wash. A company of over one hundred employees, Webco is family run and has been in business since 1956.
As a part of Webco’s growth strategy, we have an opportunity for a filling machine operator to assist us in our operations. The primary responsibilities include preparing materials for production. This position requires the candidate to assume a strategic role in the overall operations of Webco Chemical.
Key Responsibilities:
· Operate a liquid filling machine and perform other tasks of the production process to achieve established output rates ensuring accuracy and quality specifications are met
· Prepare materials for production
· Manage your production schedule to complete all tasks on time
· Ability to maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
· Operate a hand truck or electric pallet jack
· Perform other tasks as assigned by your supervisor
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Ability to follow Quality Control/Product specification paperwork
· Accuracy in labeling and reporting
· Some mechanical aptitude is necessary
· Responsible for all other duties assigned
Qualifications:
· Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
· Must be able to write, read, and speak English
· Forklift operator experience is plus
· Excellent attendance and punctuality
· Work overtime as needed
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
· Push and pull 500-pound drums
· Stand most of the day
· Climb stairs and move containers most of the day
· Maneuver full 55-gallon drums by hand
