Chemical Engineer jobs in North Carolina
Chemical Engineer conducts research and development projects involving the study of chemical reactions and material properties to innovate and develop new products or optimize existing products. Designs experiments and builds prototypes and models used to investigate and support the development of improved chemicals, materials, products, and manufacturing processes. Being a Chemical Engineer compiles and analyzes testing data. Presents research results used to estimate costs, establish performance standards, identify solutions, and facilitate processes. Additionally, Chemical Engineer maintains lab and plant safety procedures for chemical storage, handling, transport, and disposal. Complies with all safety and environmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Chemical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. and ensuring QA of products and materials.Responsibilities : Coordinate and execute bench-top, pilot, manufacturing scale-up and verification batches with speed and robustness.
Support the development and optimization of new and existing products / processes. Provide workable solutions to highly complex formulations, technical challenges, and troubleshooting.
Conducts research to develop new and improved manufacturing processes. Designs and plans the layout of equipment. Conducts tests and monitors the performance of processes throughout production.
Troubleshoots problems with manufacturing processes. Evaluates equipment and processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Manages projects and maintains constant communication with cross functional groups to drive projects from concept through commercialization.
Provide documentation to ensure the consistent manufacture of new products; including batch records, production instructions, validation and stability protocols in the development and commercialization of the products.
Qualifications : BS Chemical Engineering degree with 6 years in combination of project / process engineering, product / process development, and regulatory requirements in polymers, minerals, chemical, and / or food science industries.
