Chemical Dependency Director directs chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment and recovery programs. Leads, supports, and develops care team members. Being a Chemical Dependency Director oversees services from intake through discharge for continuity and quality of client care. Prioritizes client safety and directs crisis management. Additionally, Chemical Dependency Director develops and administers approved standards and guidelines, ensures all licensing and accreditation requirements are maintained. Establishes and administers recordkeeping and reporting processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Typically reports to a director. The Chemical Dependency Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chemical Dependency Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We are looking for an experienced Lab Chemist who will be responsible for quality control of incoming, blended, and unknown materials, as well as the associated quality records, and assuring compliance with the established CCI quality procedures and documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing material quality control testing, material sampling, sample retention, instrument calibration and maintenance, document control, and method development/validation.

    Responsibilities

    • Inspect incoming and outgoing products.
    • Perform incoming material quality assurance tests, completing Lab requests in a timely manner, manufacturing specified laboratory and production solutions when appropriate, and assuring compliance with established CCI QA/QC policies, procedures and documentation.
    • Approve chemical labels and Certificates of Analysis.
    • Assign proper chemical grade classifications to incoming and CCI produced materials.
    • Maintain CCI Quality records and procedures.
    • Maintain instruments, consumables, and calibration standards.
    • Assist with activities involving 3rd party analytical laboratories.
    • Create continuous improvement in the consistency of chemical products.
    • Execute, maintain, and improve safe laboratory and production practices and procedures.
    • Develop, initiate and execute cost-effective procedures for inspection, testing, development and evaluation of CCI products and/or services in a timely manner to meet the needs of our internal and external customers.
    • Assist with written lab procedures and QC procedures as needed.
    • Develop and recommend effective inspection and sampling techniques.
    • Responsible for analytical method development, compendial validation, planning, and implementation of supporting analytical testing.
    • Collaborate with managers of other departments to meet customer demands and employ best practices with standardized procedures whenever possible.
    • Carry out special projects as directed by Management.

    Skills and Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in chemistry that includes classroom and laboratory courses in general and analytical chemistry, knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Previous experience in a research or analytical chemistry lab is required. May substitute experience for education. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office software, pH meters, automatic titrator, densitometer, and liquid particle counters. Previous ICP-MS experience is required, experience with Agilent ICP-MS is preferred. Columbus Chemical Industries, Inc. will provide all equipment and tools.
