Chemical Dependency Director directs chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment and recovery programs. Leads, supports, and develops care team members.     Job Description:

    The Director of Alignment reports to a Program Dean and primarily works independently as a professional contributor. Success in this role requires strong expertise in an industrial technical field, including understanding the current and future workforce needs of the industry, and the ability to collaborate effectively to drive statewide programs towards high quality, industry-relevant, and compelling differentiation.

    The Director of Alignment must possess a deep understanding of the industry sector or discipline, as well as strong research and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to adapt to changing needs. The role involves translating industry knowledge into actionable strategies and building strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure the success of initiatives. The Director of Alignment works closely with campus leadership and statewide partners to establish the direction of statewide programs and define clear expectations while staying true to TSTC's mission. This role collaborates with campus leadership, statewide partners, faculty team leads, faculty members, curriculum development shared services, content development shared services, and budget teams to enhance the core capabilities of statewide programs.

    This role will be focused on program coordination.
    Anticipated travel of up to 35% to Statewide campus locations.

    Essential Functions:

    • Industry Workforce Awareness and Exposure

      • Stay informed and up-to-date about current and emerging trends, technologies, and skill requirements within the industry.

      • Seek information on workforce needs and skill gaps in the industry and understand how these needs are likely to evolve.

      • Attend industry conferences, participate in professional organizations or associations, follow industry news and publications, and network with colleagues and industry experts.

      • Collaborate with other professionals in the industry to gain insights into best practices and emerging trends.

    • Curriculum Development

      • Participate in curriculum development by ensuring alignment with current and emerging workforce needs in the industry.

      • Work with industry experts, local campus program leadership, and employers to identify the most important skills and knowledge students need for workforce success.

      • Design curriculum to address these needs.

      • Participate in curriculum planning for the current QEP process, support of faculty involvement within the Shaping You to Get Hired initiative, and collection of QEP data from program faculty.

    • Content Development

      • Apply industry workforce knowledge to create content for courses and instructional materials.

      • Collaborate with content contributors across the statewide program and content development teams to ensure instructional content is relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with industry trends and technologies.

    • Faculty Qualifications - Development & Assessment

      • Use industry workforce knowledge to inform professional development plans for self and program faculty throughout the state.

      • Apply knowledge of industry workforce needs to assess faculty qualifications for teaching in a specific discipline.

      • Build and conduct assessments to ensure faculty members possess the skills and knowledge necessary to teach courses aligned with industry needs.

      • Support faculty in developing these skills through professional development opportunities.

    • Program Capability Maturity Development

      • Work with local campus programs and other statewide shared service partners to design and procure teaching space and equipment based on industry workforce needs.

      • Ensure that space and equipment meet the needs of students and faculty, considering local campus infrastructure and equipped with relevant technologies and tools.

    • Partnership and Collaboration

      • Actively seek collaboration opportunities, foster relationships, and work with local campus programs and statewide shared service partners toward shared goals.

      • Effective collaboration requires frequent communication, adaptability, and problem-solving.

      • Communicate objectives, expectations, and timelines clearly to collaborative partners.

      • Be adaptable and open to feedback, making necessary adjustments to meet the needs of all parties.

      • Identify and solve potential issues in collaboration with shared service partners and local campus partners.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Associate's Degree or higher.
    • 3 years of professional experience
    • Experience as a substance abuse counselor.
    • Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor.

    • Industry Experience:

      • Substantial experience working in the industry sector or discipline, ideally in a faculty, leadership, or management role.

      • Demonstrated awareness and exposure to workforce needs within a specific industry sector or discipline.

    • Skills:

      • Proven research and analytical skills, showcasing the ability to gather and analyze industry-related information effectively.

      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration and communication with various stakeholders.

      • Strong organizational and project management skills to successfully coordinate and manage initiatives.

      • Proficiency in translating industry knowledge into actionable strategies for implementation.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Curriculum Development and Instructional Design:

      • Experience in developing curriculum and creating instructional content.

      • Familiarity with designing teaching spaces and procuring equipment.

      • Ability to assess faculty qualifications effectively.

    • Technological Proficiency:

      • Proficiency in using relevant software and technology.

      • Familiarity with learning management systems, project management software, and data analysis tools.
