The Chemical Operator works hands on with other Operations employees. This position performs functions directed towards successfully and efficiently meeting manufacturing goals for customer orders by completing work orders, maintaining equipment, and checking quality. The Chemical Operator works as a part of our Operations Department in a manufacturing and distribution environment.

The skillset for this position is below:

• Knowledge/Experience in chemical operations and equipment (hazardous materials, pumps, piping, hoses, tankers, railcars, storage tanks, etc.)
• Ability to read instructions and complete forms
• Certified to drive a forklift
• Must be able to lift and stack 50 lbs. repetitively, stand on concrete for long periods, reach, pull, walk, and climb.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses, rubber gloves, chemical suits, dust masks and respirators and other equipment as required
• Ability to learn products, hazards and handling and recognize and report hazardous conditions
• Ability to make suggestions and informed decisions quickly
• Possess strong time management skills with some sense of urgency to produce results
• Communicate effectively to coworkers and management

Job Responsibilities

• Work in production with powder and liquid products, compounding according to approved batch records, filling, packaging and palletizing
• Operating manufacturing equipment according to procedures
• Perform day-to-day manufacturing operations tasks in a cost-effective manner
• Report maintenance problems and downtime
• Understand and follow standard operating procedures and regulatory compliance requirements
• Propose changes to existing processes to improve overall performance
• Other duties as assigned
