Chemical Dependency Director directs chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment and recovery programs. Leads, supports, and develops care team members.     Element has an opportunity for a Department Manager to join our rapidly expanding team.  In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. 

     

    This position will be based in Sungei Kadut Loop,Singapore.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Ensures that safety and quality standards are being met and maintained at all times within the company's safety and QA programs and work with assigned staff to ensure work schedules are maintained and balanced
    • Responsible for the location safety performance and awareness; spearheads and manages initiatives that drive a culture of safety first and advise team on technical issues with regard to the successful and timely completion of daily work
    • Under the direction of the General Manager, is responsible for directing, coordinating, facilitating and monitoring the daily activities of the lab operations 
    • Provides and sets direction within the lab to ensure that production goals and customer expectations are consistently met in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner and demonstrates deep knowledge of Element capabilities, processes and expertise to be able to clearly explain the benefits of Element testing services to all audiences -- internal and external
    • Provides technical and engineering leadership, and supports the development of new technologies within a local laboratory and potentially across the Element enterprise and provides counsel to coworkers and customers requiring critical analysis of data
    • Is able to exchange technical information and knowledge with peers, senior colleagues and specialists across the element enterprise and actively seeks ways to disseminate critical testing knowledge, acumen and protocols throughout Element
    • Provides input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers
    • Confident making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholders 

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Possess Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Materials Science discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role ideally with operations management experience
    • Working knowledge of laboratory safety with extensive knowledge of the current suite of testing capabilities and proven ability to support and train staff members for the department in order to meet customers’ expectations on testing and possess strong technical leadership is vital to the production and operation of assigned tests with advanced working knowledge to operate various testing equipment
    • Ability to communicate (written and oral) effectively with clients and colleagues with great attention to detail and timing of results and possess proven track record of success with regard to technical competency both inside and outside of the lab
    • Proven ability to multi task and work under strict time lines and strong organizational, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to effectively establish and maintain two-way communications to understand the needs and concerns of all departmentsUnderstanding of continuous improvement disciplines such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, etc and posses strong project management, analytical and problem solving skills provide go-to insight in the daily efficient operation of the lab
