General:
Manages, leads, and supervises the site’s evisceration OR debone production processes for all products manufactured at 350-employee poultry processing facility. Promotes food safety and GMP awareness and education of employees. Manages the team’s safety performance, quality of work, and achievement of production goals. The position reports to the plant superintendent and manages, coaches, & develops supervisors, leads, and production employees. The primary work schedule of Mon. – Thur. OR Tues. – Fri. day shift, with flexibility to work early shift, extended days, overtime, and weekends, as needed.
Specific Duties / Responsibilities:
· Lead / manage performance of 2-4 supervisors with team of 100 – 150 employees in poultry processing facility
· Ensure all production processes deliver top quality in a safe and compliant manner
· Secure resources to complete & document required quality, safety, and process training for employees
· Drive food safety compliance/ best practices in housekeeping, sanitation, waste handling, workplace organization
· Develop, trend, and report results of performance against area KPI’s. (Key Process Indicators)
· Work with maintenance leadership to coordinate/ support area projects, PM’s, equipment upgrades
· Partner with quality team and USDA to ensure product quality exceeds food safety compliance requirements
· Respond to customer complaints. Implement sustainable corrective actions/ improvements
· Work closely with HR in the selection / development of talent and resolution of employee relations concerns
· Perform other related duties as necessary
Education: Associates degree in technical field or equivalent work experience
Experience: Min. of 3 years of supervisory, leadership, or management experiencein
manufacturing / industrial related field
Food processing experience in poultry (required)
Skills/Abilities/Attributes:
· Min. 3 yrs. leadership experience in a manufacturing /industrial environment (Poultry exp. required)
· Working knowledge & solid understanding of food safety regulations and quality systems (required)
· Team player & team builder; able to work in fast-paced environment w/ minimum supervision
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Positive driver of accountability
Physical Requirements:
· Lift / move up to 40 lbs.; occasionally 50 lbs.
· Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, stoop up to 10 hrs./shift
· Work safely in hot, cold, wet environment e.g. 35-40 / 100 degrees
· Able to assist team members on process line
