Charge Nurse plans, directs, and evaluates the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit or during an assigned shift. Coordinates the activities of the unit and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff. Being a Charge Nurse assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary. Additionally, Charge Nurse requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Charge Nurse supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Charge Nurse typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Job Summary:

    The Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely compensation for our employees while maintaining compliance with union/labor regulations and company policies. This position requires a meticulous attention to detail, a solid understanding of payroll processes, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll cycle, resolving payroll-related queries, and contributing to the smooth operation of the finance and HR departments as directed by their payroll supervisor.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Process weekly payroll for one or more companies
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing payroll updates including new hires, terminations and changes to pay rates, including review of HR’s data entry.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices, including multistate payroll
    • Ensure accurate calculation of wages and processing of tax withholding and company deductions
    • Stay current on union payroll and reporting requirements and ensure accurate reporting
    • Expectations: Tactical Responsibilities
    • Compile and process payroll data for weekly payroll
    • Process payroll withholding change requests from employees for assigned payroll company, and review changes processed for unassigned payroll companies
    • Help coordinate resolution of payroll issues to ensure accurate reporting from operations
    • Prepare incentive/bonus checks, advances, payroll corrections, and replacement checks for employees in assigned payroll company
    • Receive and resolve payroll correction issues with employees for assigned payroll company
    • Prepare and process final checks and payroll termination forms for employees in assigned payroll company
    • Process garnishment orders from third parties as needed
    • Submit weekly tax submissions for both State & Federal, verify GL balances for all companies
    • Process weekly 401k payments for all companies
    • Complete requests for verification of employment and respond to payroll related questions regarding records of earnings/PTO for assigned company
    • Maintain accurate & detailed electronic files for payroll for all payroll functions
    • Assist with any audits conducted by third party, as needed

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    Education and Experience:

    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • 2-4 years of payroll processing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience, preferred
    • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred
    • Should be familiar with payroll software and payroll reports

    Physical requirements:

    • Must be able to lift up to 10lbs
    • Work at a desk and on computer approximately 6-8 hours per day
    • Perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions
    • Perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload
    • Uses telephone and email to communicate with vendors, customers, and co-workers, approximately

    Compensation:

    $55,000K - $65,000K

    Bonus potential, 100% paid full benefits for you and your family, generous paid time off, and an employer funded retirement plan. You must successfully pass a background and drug test prior to the start date.
