    I. MAJOR/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Under general supervision, the Chapter Relations Coordinator works with the Executive Director to support operational goals and objectives of the chapter. Serving as the primary point of contact, this position has significant interaction with the Association, NASW members, and the public.

    II. BASIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Operations:

    • In collaboration with the Executive Director, serves as a liaison to engage communication with the Board of Directors, members and the public.
    • Supports the operational function of the chapter by being diligent in tracking meets important dates, events, and deadlines.
    • Helps find ways to increase quality of membership services.
    • Continuing Education:
    • In collaboration with Executive Director, develops and implements a year-round continuing education program
    • Manages communication and documentation needed to ensure success of programs.
    • Supports execution of workshops during and after business hours.
    • Assists in all troubleshooting and follow-up with registrants and attendees,
    • Tracks refund requests and appropriately reports issues to Executive Director.
    • Moderates and hosts chapter events - assist presenters, introduce speakers and topics, review housekeeping rules and CE instructions, record event when permitted, and managing tech and chat support during selected events.
    • Creates and forwards CE certificates and resources to CE event attendees
    • Uploads recorded and approved CE workshops to NASW-DE Online CE Institute (InReach) page and monitors completed self-studies.
    • Administrative support to the CE collaborative process by accepting applications, reviewing for completeness, processing payments, preliminary review for approval, and providing clear, timely and accurate communication with the applicants.
    • Answer questions regarding continuing education programs from members in timely manner.

    Administrative:

    • Assists in coordination of chapter events.
    • Supports the planning and execution of special events such as LEAD, annual conference, fundraisers, board elections, and other projects that arise.
    • Prepares and distributes membership reports (takes raw data from national membership database and creates report for leadership review).
    • Assists with managing and tracking advertisements and career packages
    • Establishes and maintains files for projects, correspondence, contracts, and other files

    Member Relations:

    • As the central point of contact, receives and responds to inquiries directed to chapter’s general email.
    • Responds knowledgeably to membership inquires and questions from the public and directs then to appropriate resources.
    • Conducts welcome calls to new members.
    • Prepares and sends eblasts to welcome and other member communication as appropriate.
    • Supports the chapter in communicating the value of membership to the public and members through various communication mediums

    Meeting Coordination:

    • Communicates with board members and supports Board of Director meetings; prepares board packets; tracks board members compliance with outreach to assure attendance and form completion (code of conduct, conflict of interest).
    • Regularly updates and maintains contact information for Board of Directors, committee chairs, and active volunteers.
    • Under instruction from the Chapter Committee on Nomination and Leadership Identification (CCNLI), provides instrumental support to ballot elections process (i.e. collects platform statements, prepares platform document and statements, distributes to membership for voting, and sends post-elect communication to membership).

    Communications:

    • In coordination with Executive Director, monitors social media of NASW DE. Schedules posts, responds to members and maintains active presence on NASW DE social media.
    • Update and maintain the chapter website.
    • Assist and facilitates drafting, creating and disseminating various chapter communications including weekly newsletters.
    • Coordinates and manages article requests, advertising, distribution request, event notications and news.

    Graphic Design:

    • Creates and designs content for digital and promotional platforms such as social media posts, themed web banners, marketing materials, etc.
    • Utilize tools such as Canva, stock images and sock videos to develop media content.

    Travel:

    • In-state travel is required to support programs and chapter activities.
    • Other travel as necessary, at the discretion of the Executive Director.

    Miscellaneous Duties:

    • Complete other task and duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

    III. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

    Skills:

    • Requires demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interface effectively with members of the public.
    • Requires experience and skills with the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Must be an excellent communicator, both orally and in writing. Strong grammar and writing skills are required.
    • Must be able to plan, organize, and track projects and tasks. Project management experience is a plus.
    • Must demonstrate dedication to and enthusiasm for teamwork.
    • Must effectively manage competing and changing priorities.
    • Must be able to demonstrate a strong ability to identify problems, exercise common sense and sound judgment to generate solutions, and effectively communicate ideas to others.
    • Must be familiar with social media platforms, web development, google analytics and project management software.
    • Strong graphic design skills and familiarity with Canva is necessary.

    Knowledge: Prefered BSW/BA. Knowledge of continuing education programming and compliance with regulatory requirements are advantageous in this position.

    Experience: Requires 2-3 years of related work experience in addition to the education requirement.

    COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
    NASW policy generally requires that all employees complete a primary COVID-19 vaccination series and receive a booster vaccination when eligible. (Employees are not required to obtain an updated (bivalent) booster, which became available in September 2022, if they received a booster previously, but are encouraged to do so when eligible.) If an offer of employment is made, the candidate, as a condition of employment, will be required to provide documentation (such as a CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card) showing that they satisfy this requirement. If the candidate does not currently meet this requirement but will in the near future, NASW may be able to postpone the start date to allow the candidate to be compliant with the requirement. Candidates may request a medical or religious exemption for this requirement.
