DESCRIPTION:
St. Paul’s School announces a search for a position of chaplain to begin duties in August 2024. This individual will join a team of interfaith chaplains. The chaplain’s primary responsibilities will include sharing in the ministry of the chaplaincy and teaching in the Humanities department, with a focus on religious studies. Additional responsibilities also include the following: pastoral counseling; advising spiritual life groups; and supporting social justice initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The chaplain will work collaboratively to develop and support morning chapel services, noonday Wednesday services, Sunday Community Eucharist, and other services to include Holy Week and Easter. Additionally, the chaplain will teach confirmation classes. As a member of the faculty, the successful candidate will participate in a variety of activities typical to the boarding school environment, including advising, dormitory association, coaching, committee work, and other duties. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment working with the broader faculty in advancing the mission of the School and the commitment to teaching and learning in a holistic educational environment. Preference will be given to candidates who have an understanding of boarding school life. JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree (or advanced degree preferred)
ORDINATION: Ordination as a priest in the Episcopal church required, with at least three years of experience in ministry preferred.
SALARY: Competitive, based on experience.
