Certified Respiratory Therapist assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Being a Certified Respiratory Therapist also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is an impairment. Requires an associate degree and a credential of Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). Additionally, Certified Respiratory Therapist may be expected to maintain a CPR certification. Typically reports to a manager. Certified Respiratory Therapist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Our client is currently hiring a Respiratory Therapist Registered to become part of our dynamic team reporting to the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services.
Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available for eligible applicants!
Skype or other Virtual Interviewing Processes (VIP) is available for out-of-town applicants.
REQUIREMENTS:- REQUIRED: CURRENT TEXAS RESPIRATORY CARE LICENSE
- Required: Associates in Respiratory Science as a minimum
- Required: Able to perform respiratory modalities and function well in ICU, NICU, and Emergency room settings.
- Required: Must be RRT or eligible as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 2 years of taking this position.
- Required: Must have passed the NBRC exam to be registered.
- Required: American Heart Association (AHA) Approved Certifications
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
- 1- 2 YEARS' EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
Education Required: Associates or better.
Experience Preferred: 1 to 2 Years
Licenses & Certifications Required: (American Heart Association (AHA) Approved Certifications)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
- CURRENT TEXAS RESPIRATORY CARE LICENSE
Under supervision of the shift supervisors, plans and implements all therapy, Respiratory medication "outside of scope of practice to administer IV/ACLS medications", and diagnostic modes to all assigned patients. Provides all required documentation and maintains appropriate internal records. Performs supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the shift supervisor according to policy.
