About the Position

The Respiratory Therapist for Meadville Medical Center will primarily coordinate respiratory care for patients using the AARC Guidelines. This will include initiating and conducting therapeutic procedures, such as the application of oxygen and compressed air, as well as instructing patients on proper breathing techniques. You will also participate in patient and family education in addition to providing leadership while cooperating with other health care providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individual plan of care with revisions as the patient's needs and condition change
• Plan, implement, and explain health teaching, including medications and procedures, to patients and/or family
• Maintain skills in the assessment, treatment, and care appropriate for the age groups and disease process of the patient based on condition and needs
• Record all patient care procedures performed with overview into possible suggestions and observations in regard to respiratory care of patient and report pertinent information to the appropriate health care worker

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited school of Respiratory Care
• Nationally certified, registered, or registry eligible
• Current Pennsylvania state Respiratory License or having made application for license
• BLS Certification

Shift Schedule

• Rotating 3-12 hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend
• Holiday rotation
