Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant PRN Home Health Job description:

We seek a dedicated Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team in Melissa, TX. As a PRN COTA, your role will be to assist an occupational therapist. We are looking for experienced COTAs as well as new grads.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.

• Convey assessment/screening results to patients and their families, as well as appropriate staff.
• Complete necessary assessment/screening documentation.
• Identify and prioritize needs based on assessments, establishing a plan with goals.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan for timely discharge or transfer.
• Prioritize treatment procedures based on patient needs and MD requests.
• Implement interventions according to the care plan.
• Communicate the treatment plan and interventions to assistants initially and ongoingly.
• Inform interdisciplinary healthcare team members of ongoing treatment issues/plans.
• Document daily interventions as required.
• Record appropriate reassessments and changes in the care plan.
• Report significant changes in patient interventions to families and the healthcare team.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Occupational Therapy Assistant license in good standing by Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
• Valid Licensed Occupation Therapist by TX Board
• Current CPR certification
