Additionally, Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant requires NBCOT Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) certification. Typically reports to an occupational therapist. Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' needs and goals
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve patients' functional abilities and independence
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes
- Educate patients and their families on adaptive techniques and equipment to enhance daily living activities
- Monitor and document patients' progress throughout the treatment process
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience in speech therapy or case management is a plus
- Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and modalities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
