Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant - Hospice helps patients take medications. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Maintains documents and records related to patient care. Follows all relevant safety guidelines and regulations. JOB SUMMARY
Under a professional care plan established by the agency, Hospice Aides provide valuable supportive services to patients whose health status is unstable and/or who require skilled professional services. Hospice Aides provide personal care and specifically defined non-skilled health care services and provide a clean orderly environment for the patient. On cases assigned, Hospice Aides work under the supervision of an RN or LPN. Their service is given in combination with the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team.
The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures. Must be available for rotating schedule.

EXPERIENCE
Two years Hospital/Skilled Nursing Facility experience preferred.
