Certified Nursing Assistant - Hospice performs various direct patient care activities for terminally ill patients in a hospice environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant - Hospice ensures patients' safety, well-being, and comfort. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant - Hospice helps patients take medications. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Maintains documents and records related to patient care. Follows all relevant safety guidelines and regulations. Communicates with patients, their families, and other care providers. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Requires State License. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Certified Nursing Assistant - Hospice's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     The primary purpose of your job position is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors. As a Certified Nursing Assistant you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors.
    • Follow work assignments, and/or work schedules in completing and performing your assigned tasks.
    • Review care plans daily to determine if changes in the resident’s daily care routine have been made on the care plan.
    • Inform the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of any changes in the resident’s condition so that appropriate information can be entered on the resident’s care plan.
    • Ensure that your notes reflect that the care plan is being followed.

    Requirements

    Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with laws of Rhode Island.

    Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
