Description

This individual is  responsible for purchasing and managing inventory to meet demand schedules, and responsible for production work orders to meet demand schedules. 

Responsibilities:

•   Maintenance of assigned suppliers: Current lead times, pricing, and contact information.
•  Management of purchased parts: order acknowledgements, quantity and price verification, delivery date maintenance, resolve invoice discrepancies, shipping errors, overstock returns.
•  Update ERP with current pricing received from Vendors, calculate List Price, Replacement and Standard costs per vendors discount schedule. Notify management when prices fall outside normal range.
•  Evaluate buy recommendations from the Prelude system. Ensure proper quantities of product are purchased and scheduled in order to satisfy customer requirements.
•  Manage your assigned vendors and ensure you understand vendor policies and procedures and how they affect purchasing the vendor’s parts. Ensure any special vendor pricing is adhered to. 
•  Obtain quotations from suppliers and negotiate improved pricing where possible. 
•  Identify new product sources to ensure a continued supply of necessary parts. Collaborate with the Engineering department on new vendor selection where applicable.
•  Manage inventory of parts for your assigned vendors. Ensure that product is purchased consistent with company inventory turns goals and sales initiatives. 
•  Ensure vendor returns are processed in a timely manner and follow up through the entire process until the claim is resolved and closed. 
•  Work with Sales group to ensure customer needs are being met while keeping inventory at levels consistent with company inventory turns and days inventory on hand goals.

Requirements

• 4-year degree or 3 plus years of purchasing experience
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Working knowledge of PC functions and Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Outlook
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Works independently, displays initiative, and solves problems with proficiency
•  Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Good math and Excel Skills
